Ladies and gentlemen,

I thank you very much for your time, in allowing me to give this brief background explanation of what’s really happening in the Democratic Rep of Congo. First and foremost, let me introduce myself. 

My name is Kenyata Christian Mirindi, I am the executive Director of Justice Congo Group, UK. Most will know the conflict in the Democratic Rep Of Congo has been going on since 1996 as part of post cold war geopolitical and economic realignment that when the Congo invasion took place spearheaded by Rwanda and Uganda with the support of Big Superpower in the back ground. Congo is not in the news headlines any more but Gaza and Ukraine. 

However, women and children, innocent civilian are killed on a daily basis and drive for the acquisition of the Congolese strategic minerals is as intense as ever facilitated by proxy and shadow wars, The people we meet the story we hear, their experiences all invisible and yet paying the price. It’s make one blood run cold The shadow of the cold wars is hanging heavier and heavier on them. Use of pain, divide and rule tactic, desperation of conflict with its history and its particularities, the blood running the wounds of the conflict it is carry on as usual for the minerals thirst powers and their beneficiary supporters. 

As a leader of Congo Laurent Kabila was roped in thought what infamously become known as « the Lemera Mafia agreement » with a few Congolese to give its invasion credibility. When Laurent Kabila was eventually killed , his adoptive son of both Rwanda father and mother, Joseph Kabila but his true name is Hypolite Kanambe took over, to continue the Agenda of precious minerals sourcing for foreign powers. 

His mix approach of involving foreigners interests and local civil societies worked until he offered Uranium to the Eastern blog. His successor, Felix Tshisekedi again used by Rwanda, Uganda continued with policies of cleansing rural areas, especially their leaderships, ( tribal chiefs, killing the, wiping them out ) killing women and children in the process. Rwanda also gave rebirth to the M23 and many other supposedly Congolese in the make up but Rwanda led in Aims and objectives as well as military strategy. 

Now along side the Rwanda led 23 fighters, Donal Trump has thrown another element a peace for minerals talks process. He is using the same play book strategy as in Ukraine Russo conflict. But for the Americans , minerals for peace or any peace negotiations process should be with the Congolese. Not Rwandans nor Ugandans. That is , if it is to succeed and last completely and fundamentally driven by external forces motivated by acquiring Congolese mineral resources , the value of its citizen’s lives has been down graded to Zero 

Justice Cup , both Congo Group we plead with the world community not to forget about Congo. The political leaders, the churches leaders, civil societies leaders , please stand side by side with suffering Congolese people in their hour of need. Call for accountability speak out , show your support, Have mercy! Peace, liberty, fraternity, respect for human rights and rule of law just to enjoy life and living. just to have normal dream. The Implementation of the Mapping Report could provide hope and change for the vulnerable people of the DRC, which they so desperately need.
